DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT 

 The Fofana Family of Sanniquellie City, Nimba County, Liberia, deeply regrets to announce the home going of their father, brother son, and a loving husband, Mr. Yonkar Mohamed Fofana. This sad event occurred on October 31, 2011, in Conakry, Guinea, at his residence. He died at age 34, and the cause of death was natural.

The top official of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) says the group’s poll monitors will begin arriving in Liberia’s capital, Monrovia, today (Wednesday) to observe the November 8 run-off.

Ambassador James Victor Gbeho, president of the ECOWAS Commission, says the sub-regional bloc anticipates a peaceful, transparent and a credible vote. Full Story

A top official in the party of Liberia's presidential challenger says the party may still boycott next week's run-off election.
Congress for Democratic Change spokesman George Solo said Tuesday his party continues to demand a new National Election Commission be formed and for new checks and balances to be implemented to ensure ballot boxes and voting papers are not tampered with.

Vojama, Lofa County - Reports surfacing in the offices of FrontPage Africa say the standard bearer of the All Liberian Coalition Party and professor of the University of Liberia Alhaji G. V. Kromah is recovering from carbon monoxide poisoning and his bodyguard found dead as a result of the same incident.

Family sources informed FrontPage Africa late Tuesday night that the episode occurred last Saturday evening in Voinjama where the professor had gone to partake in the party’s primary exercise.
